Abid Buttar
Abid Buttar is a 26-year-old professional poker player from Charlotte, North Carolina. He was first introduced to Texas Hold’em during his freshman year of high school in a Math in Sports intersession class, where the strategic and analytical nature of the game sparked his interest. That early exposure laid the foundation for a long-term passion for poker.
While studying at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Abid played online poker and worked as a tennis instructor, earning a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Belk College of Business. In 2022, he made the transition to playing poker full-time, bringing a disciplined, analytical approach shaped by his academic and athletic background.
